Obituary of Patricia Meola

Patricia (Welch) Meola, 66, passed away Friday, November 9 at Cortland Park Nursing Home. Patty attended Nottingham High School and became a homemaker and worked at various nursing homes as an aide. Friendly and outgoing, Patty was a wonderful daughter, sister, mother, and friend. She is survived by her sisters Anne Shultes, Vicky Lane, Terry deRosa, son Matthew Meola, and several nieces and nephews. and perhaps what made her beautiful was not her appearance or what she achieved, but in her love and in her courage, and her audacity to believe: no matter the darkness around her, Light ran wild within her and that was the way she came alive, and it showed up in everything. A celebration of Patty's life will be held at the home of Vicky Lane at 318 Carlton Rd., Syracuse 13207 on Sunday, November 25th from 1-5 p.m. and a memorial mass will be held in the chapel at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at 406 Court St. in Syracuse at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 26.
