Darrell W. DeVoe, 55 of Groton passed away suddenly May 25, 2012 at home. Darrell was born July 17, 1956 in Cortland the son of the late William and Daisy Westlake DeVoe.
Darrell was a 1974 graduate of Cortland High School where he had served as class President.Darrell was an avid hunter, fisherman, and loved listening to music. He had been employed as a chef at the Sherwood Inn and the Skaneateles Country Club, and most recently at SUNY Cortland.He is survived by his wife Theresa OLeary DeVoe of Groton, his daughter Samantha Humphrey, his sister: Sally (Ken) DeVoe-Palma, of Florida, his sister in law: Patricia (Arnie) OLeary Mosch, brother in Laws: Robert VanMarter, and Carl Lyman, nieces: Amanda Bryant,Shelby Edlridge and many friends.
Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4 -6 pm at theWright-Beard Funeral Home 9 Lincoln Ave. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family

We are all going to miss you Darrell. You had such a kind, giving, friendly way... I so enjoyed talking with you just about a week ago.. Can't really believe you are gone. We all loved you very much and cherish all the memories. Please God give my sis Terry and niece Sammy the strength to get through this hard time.
