Obituary of Gertrude M. Wells

Gertrude (Golly) A. Wells, formerly of Manalapan, NJ passed away peacefully at home December 17, 2018. Gertrude (Golly) was born and raised in Freehold, NJ to Dr. Howard and Lula Mason. She worked for Bell Telephone and had a daycare in Manalapan, NJ for many years. She is predeceased by her son Claude Wells, sisters, Mary Jane Johnson, Peggy Taylor and Susan Kelly, and a brother Tommy Mason. Golly is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Paul A. Wells, sons Paul H. Wells (Laura), Glenn Wells (Nancy) and John Wells (Sharon). Her grandchildren Christopher, Joseph, Victoria, Jacob, Autumn, and Ryan and many nieces and nephews and extended family including lifelong friend, Louise Beams. Golly loved to read and enjoyed Manasquan Beach. Her and her husband traveled extensively throughout the United States. She later retired to Manasquan, NJ, Lititiz, PA and Moravia, NY. Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc. Cortland, NY is handling the arrangements. At Golly's request there will be a private graveside service.
