Obituary of Jeanne L. Rzepka

Jeanne L. Rzepka, 90, of Cortland passed away December 21, 2018 at Crown Park and Rehabilitation Center. She was born November 6, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan. Jeanne was raised and had resided in the Detroit area until young adulthood, attending Wayne State University graduating with a bachelor's degree in Physical Education. Jeanne and her late husband Lou relocated to Cortland in 1969 when he began teaching at SUNY Cortland. Jeanne was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and was a member of the Faculty Wive's Club at SUNY Cortland. Her greatest passions were playing bridge and tennis with her friends. Jeanne also enjoyed skiing, bowling and watching sports on television and spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughter Mary Ann (Al) Schiff, her son Louis (Denise) Rzepka, her four grandchildren Jessica and Molly Schiff, Joshua and Johnathan Rzepka. Jeanne was predeceased by her husband Lou Rzepka, her parents Raymond and Annabelle McDonald Affeld, and her sister Dorothy Haywood. Jeanne was known to family and friends as a caring, compassionate individual and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. At Jeanne's request there are no services.
