Nancy Remmele Benjamin, 89, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2019, at Crown Park Rehab, following a brief illness. Born January 20, 1930, in Binghamton. N.Y., she was a graduate of Binghamton North High School, after which she married her husband, Paul and began their family. A move to Cortland came about in 1956. A dedicated wife and mother, Nancy and Paul raised their four children and became active members of the United Presbyterian Church. She was an avid reader, exceptional knitter, and outstanding baker. With children grown, she worked at Homer High School and later, at Wilkins Co. Nancy is survived by her beloved husband of 70 years, Paul Benjamin; her four children, Bonnie Benjamin Allen (Royce), Brenda Benjamin Gaddy, Debra Benjamin Ladd, David Benjamin (Nancy), six grandchildren, Amy, Lindsay, Darcy, Owen, Morgan, and Brooke; two great grandchildren, Brianna and Lilly and her sister, Judy Remmele Restino of Manlius, N.Y. Calling hours will be held from 5-7pm Friday, February 1, at Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave. Cortland. A funeral service will be at 11:00AM, Saturday, February 2, at the United Presbyterian Church, 25 Church St., Cortland. Entombment will follow at the Cortland Rural Cemetery Gibson Chapel.
