Obituary of Betty Jane Devereese

Betty Jane Devereese, 92, of Cortland passed away February 20, 2019 at the Guthrie Cortland Regional Medical Center.

Betty was born in Syracuse but had lived in Cortland for many years. She stayed at home to care for her children, and also had worked outside of the home as a residential house keeper and a t Smith Corona for many years. Betty was a longtime member of the Faith Baptist Church, the church she loved.

She is survived by her sons Thomas (Cindy) Devereese, Theodore Devereese, daughter in law Linda Devereese, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Betty was predeceased by her parents William and Lois Brown Hessler, her husband Theodore Devereese, her children Charles Devereese and Betty Sue Devereese.

A calling hour will be held Saturday March 2, 10-11 am with a funeral service to begin 11 am at the Faith Baptist Church, Rt. 13, Cortland NY. Private burial will be at the White Chapel Memory Garden, Dewitt NY, next to her husband Theodore. The Wright-Beard Funeral Home is serving the family.
