Debora Jane Coffin Phillips
Debora J. Coffin Phillips, 64 years, of McGraw, N.Y., died at home Tuesday, February 26, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on Jan. 7, 1955 in Rome, N.Y. to the late Norman and Genevieve Buckley Kipp. Debora grew up in Tully with her 14 siblings. She graduated from Tully High School and worked for numerous years at Crescent Corset, Maidenform, and most recently Borg-Warner.
Debora enjoyed collecting wind chimes, traveling, gardening, canning food, camping, snowmobiling, and raising animals. Debbie was best known for her stewed tomatoes, and bread & butter pickles.
She was constantly on the move and trying to bring family together, whether her own or someone else's. Her greatest joy was being a sister, wife, mother, stepmother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many.
Surviving Debora is her husband of 10 years, Dale L. Phillips of McGraw; sons Rodger (Kelly) White, Brian (Meghann) White, Allen (Deede) Coffin, Jr., Dale (Marjorie) Coffin; daughters, Brenda (Bill) Doeing, Barbara Woodmancy, Jessica, Amanda, and Stephanie Phillips. Debora is also survived by 10 siblings, 18 grandchildren, one great-grandson, several nieces and nephews.
Debora was pre-deceased by her husband, Allen T. Coffin, Sr., and her sisters, Cathy Kipp, Ruth Whaley, Donna Noeller, Bonnie Allen, and stepdaughter, Kristen Phillips.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday March 2, 2019, at the Groton Assembly Church, 701 Main Street, Groton, N.Y. with Pastor Samuel Neno presiding at 12 PM. Calling hours will precede the service at the Groton Assembly Church from 10 AM to 12 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be in Debora's Memory to your local Hospicare. Interment will be in the spring at Cortland Rural Cemetery.
