Obituary of Tom A Wood

Tom Wood, 62, passed away February 16, at his home. Tom went to school in Waverly and Owego, NY and Albuquerque, NM. While in high school he was an excellent wrestler. Tom was well liked wherever he went and with those with whom he worked. His generosity toward those less fortunate than he showed in many ways. He was a surveyor and worked for many years in the construction industry. He was an excellent carpenter and did beautiful work in stone and wood. Tom leaves his daughter, Rachel Wood; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Paula Wood; granddaughter, Ava Pena. He is also survived by six siblings: Betty Wood, Charles Wood (Louise), Karen Marshall, Bill Wood (Connie), Jo Lynne Fenger, and Christina Kinney (Kevin) and 4 nieces, 9 nephews, 8 great nieces and 5 great nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Doris Rowe Wood and his niece, Lesley. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 2, his birthday, at the Church in Blodgett Mills, 2:30-5 PM. Contributions in lieu of flowers are suggested for Catholic Charities of Cortland County, the SPCA of Cortland County, or the Church in Blodgett Mills.
