Maria E. DeSanta, 68, of Cortland passed away on April 8, 2019 at Albany Medical Center. She was born September 13, 1950 in Cortland, the daughter of the late Antonio and Mary Garberini DeSanta.
Ms. DeSanta was a lifetime resident of the Cortland area Graduating from Cortland High School. She worked at Cortland Regional Medical Center, Cornell University, Dr. Chang's office and Petra Fashions.
Maria is survived by her son John William (Brandy) Lyon; granddaughter Alexis Lyon; her sisters Ann DeSanta and Toni (Wayne) Williams, speical nieces and nephews Nicholas and Andrew Crosby, Michael Antonio and Sarah Lynn Williams.
Maria is predeceased by her parents.
A service will be held at Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc on Friday at 11am. Burial will be private.
Donations may be made to YMCA Swim Program or Cortland Free Library Children's Department.
