Obituary of Carlton R. Rodman

Carlton R. "Rock" Rodman Sr., 81, of East Homer passed away January 28, 2019 at Crown Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born September 11, 1937 in Cortland the son of the late Charles and Carrie Seymour Rodman. Rock had been an area resident all his life. He was a longtime NYS Dept. of Transportation employee retiring after thirty years. Carlton was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church, Truxton. When he was younger, Carl enjoyed bowling, hunting, and most recently played senior softball. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Elizabeth Rodman , his children Carlton (Burton Fritts) Rodman Jr., Valerie (Barney) McConnell, Mitchell (Brenda) Rodman, Cheryl (Jeffery) St. Peter; his sister Constance Bosworth, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Carlton was predeceased by his sisters Evelyn Breed and Bonnie Neely; his brothers Edward, Robert, Gary Rodman, and Clifford Butler. Calling hours will be held Friday June 7, from 4-6PM at Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10AM at St. Patrick's Church in Truxton, N.Y. Burial will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery.
