Obituary of Ronald Marshall

Ronald Marshall Sr., 72, of Cortland passed away May 24, 2019 with his loving son by his side. He was born December 15, 1946 in Cortland. Ron was a lifelong resident of Cortland. He served with the US Army, 82nd Airborne, from 1964-1967. He then joined the National Guard and retired after seventeen years as Staff Sergeant. He worked for Brewer Titchener Corp. And then with Cooper Tools retiring after fourty years. He was an avid golfer and bowler. His greatest passions were spending time with his grandchildren and the lifelong journey he spent with his wife. He is survived by his son Ronald (Kathy) Marshall Jr., grandchildren Julia and Nicholas his brothers Jim (Carol) Marshall Jr., Tim (Sharon) Marshall, his sisters Joann Sanford, Paula (George) Reise, Frances (John) Whitley, nieces and nephews. Ron was predeceased by his parents James and Virginia Marshall, and his loving wife Mary Marshall who passed away March 22, 2019. Calling hours will be Friday July 12, 10- am – 12 pm at Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc., 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland NY, 13045, with a graveside service with military honors will follow at 12:30 pm at the Cortland Rural Cemetery.
