Obituary of Valor J. O'Shea

Valor "Val" J. O'Shea Jr., 72, of Dryden, passed away June 2, 2019 at Cayuga Medical Center, Ithaca. He was born January 16, 1947 in Geneva, N.Y.
Val served two tours during the Vietnam War, 1st Calvary, from 1967-1971 being honorably discharged as a sergeant from the U.S. Army. He worked for Overhead Door Co. then with Schwan's until retirement. He served as Service Officer for the DAV in Cortland. Val enjoyed fishing with his best friend Bill Murray, and hunting when he was younger.
He is survived by his wife Yvonne O'Shea of 47 years, of Dryden, his sons Brian Robinson, Dee Robinson, and Charles Robinson Jr., brothers Kevin O'Shea, Dennis O'Shea, and Tommy Ostertag, his sisters Patty Ann Pacquin and Cathy (Steven) Earing, his brother-in-law John (Dawn) Conklin, sister-in-law Paula Terry, his grandchildren Ben, Katie, and Emily Truitt, his great grandson Bentley Joseph Truitt, and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Valor O'Shea Sr. and Betty Ostertag., his first wife Linda O'Shea, his siblings Michael, Ronald, and Helen, his brother in laws Jim Jordan and Tom Terry.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday June 5, 2019 from 10-11:45 am with a funeral service to begin 12 noon at Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland, N.Y. A graveside service with military honors will be held Thursday June 6, 2019 12 noon at Mount Hope Cemetery, 5697 NY-12 Norwich, N.Y.
