Obituary of Grace F. Rice

Grace F. Rice, 91 of Homer passed away on June 5, 2019 at her residence. She was born on December 9, 1927 in Cortland, NY a daughter of the late Claude and Elizabeth Nichols Finn. Grace was a co-owner of Rice's Nursery, Homer, NY, and was previously employed by Marine Midland Bank. She was a member of United Presbyterian Church and a member of King's daughters and sons. Grace is survived by two daughters, Debra (David) Sanford, Janice (William) Brown, two sons, Dr. James 'Jake' (Mary) Rice, Paul (Corrine) Rice, grandchildren, Anastacia "Stacie" (Brad) Blythe, Jessica (Robert) VanDee, Trevor (Amy) Sanford, Anissa Sanford, Newton (Flo Mercer) Brown, Matthew (Donna) Brown, Kate (Kevin O'Neill) Rice, Joey (Zeto Gautner) Rice, Tam (Heather Culvert-Heslop) Heslop, Karla (Tom White) Rice, Garrett (Angela) Rice. Grace was predeceased by her husband, James, son Peter and a brother, Ernest Finn. Calling hours will be Saturday, June 15 from 10 AM – 12 PM at Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc., 9 Lincoln Ave. Cortland with a funeral service starting at 12 PM at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Homer, NY. Memorial contributions can be made to United Presbyterian Church, 25 Church St. Cortland, NY.
