Obituary of Andria E. Ayers

Andria E. Ayers, 71, of Preble passed away battling leukemia June 9, 2019 at Guthrie Cortland Regional Medical Center. She was born August 30, 1947 in Cortland.

 

Andria was a lifelong resident of the area graduating from Dryden High School. She had been employed at Cortland Care Center for over 38 years as a CNA as their Activity's Director. She enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, cooking, boating and spending time with her family at her pool. She and Lavern enjoyed traveling, especially cruises to tropical destinations. Outside of her family, one of her greatest passions was being an avid football fan cheering on her beloved Pittsburgh Steelers.

 

She is survived by her husband of 44 yrs Laverne Ayers, her children; Darin (Sammi) Adams, Michelle (Gary) VanDee, Scott (Katie) Ayers, Chad (Kim) Ayers, several grandchildren, her siblings Kathleen (Don Scott) Garrett, William (Donna) Higgins, Robert Higgins, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 

Andria was predeceased by her parents Andrew and Lyla Clark Higgins.

 

Calling hours will be Thursday 2-7 pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc., 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland NY, 13045.

 

Funeral services will be held Friday 10 am at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Mowers presiding. Burial will follow at the Glenwood Cemetery, Homer NY.
