Obituary of Barbara Williams

Barbara Jean Williams, life long resident of Cortland passed peacefully away June 12th, 2019 at the age of 88. Born January 21st, 1931 in Smyrna, NY to the late John and Nellie Stevens, Barb graduated from Cortland High School in June of 1949 and went on to work at both the 1st National Bank and Citizen's Saving banks of Cortland and subsequently as an Administrative Assistant for Cortland County Chamber of Commerce and finally Agway MTS. In 2016 Barb moved to Texas and spent her final years with her son. Barb is survived by her son, John Scott Williams of McKinney, Texas and Granddaughter Christina Marie Williams of San Antonio, TX. A calling hour will be held Monday 1-2 pm with a service to follow at 2 PM at Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave, Cortland. Barb will be laid to rest next to her parents at the Cortland Rural Cemetery. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider: The American Cancer Society.
