Robert M. Stoker, 71, of Cortland, passed away on July 24, 2019. Robert was born on August 10, 1947, the son of the late Robert N. Stoker and Dorothy Stevens Stoker. A parishioner of St. Mary's Church, Robert was an usher and a member of the parish council. Robert served in the Air Force from 1967-1971. He was a 29 year employee of US Airways serving as a sales agent. Robert was known to be a classy dresser and for his talent in home decorating. He had a keen sense of humor and sharp wit. He enjoyed traveling through the years, including numerous trips to Italy, southern California, and to Walt Disney World in Florida. Robert could really "cut a rug" on the dance floor, especially dancing to jitterbug music. Robert was an avid Yankee fan, as well as a proud democrat who attended the 1964 Democratic Convention as a page. Robert is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Celeste Camilli Stoker, as well as a proud father and grandfather to daughters, Julie (Matthew) Minor and Carolyn (Demetrios) Souzas; and grandchildren, Constantine Souzas, Sophia Souzas, and Mason Kurtz. He is also survived by his sisters, Sandra (David) Deasy, Linda (Mark Griswold) Stoker, and Amy (James) Prowak as well as an aunt, uncles, and many cousins. A memorial mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church on Monday, July 29, at 10:30am. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider a donation to St. Mary's Church.
