Obituary of Lillian M. Batsford

Lillian May Batsford, 85, of Homer N.Y. passed away on November 15th, 2019 in Cortland Park Nursing Home and Rehab. Lillian resided in Homer, N.Y. most of her life. She was married to Harold Batsford until the time of his death. For most of Lillian's life, she ran her own daycare. She took care of many children who grew up in Homer and Cortland areas of all ages. Lillian was predeceased by Harold Batsford, her parents Cornelius Robert Fitzgerald Sr. and Lucy E. (Hicks) Fitzgerald, her sisters Ellen Nowalk, Evelyn Palladino, Louise Riley, her brothers Artie Fitzgerald, Danny Fitzgerald, Robert Fitzgerald, John Fitzgerald, and an infant brother. Lillian is survived by her brother Robert Fitzgerald Jr., of Cortland; sisters Isabelle Petrie, of Homer, and Mary Henry, of Cortland; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Lillian is also survived by her children Ray (Gail) Shutts, Randy McKay, Brenda (Robert) Shephard, grandchildren Jammie Shutts, Felicia Shutts, James Webb, Nicole Webb-Dill, Samantha Shephard, Ashley McKay, Jodi Shephard, and 11 great grandchildren. Graveside Services will be held Thursday November 21st at 11 am at Glenwood Cemetery in Homer Celebration of Life will be held after the services in the building behind the Homer Fire Station Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc. is assisting the family with arrangements.
