Leroy "Joe" Harrington, 75, of Cortland passed away December 10, 2019 at Wilson Hospital in Binghamton, NY surrounded by loved ones. He was born October 4, 1944 in Cortland, NY, the son of the late Roy and Rachel Congdon Harrington.

 

Joe was a lifelong resident of the area graduating from Cortland High School in 1964. He retired from Wilson Sporting Goods in the mid 1980's. Joe enjoyed bowling, playing softball, and was an avid reader. He cherished spending time with his family and friends.

 

He is survived by his brother Henry "Hank" Harrington, his nephews John Harrington, Mark (Molly) Harrington, great nephew Kyle Harrington, great niece Megan Harrington, Aunt Clara Harrington Bleck, and numerous cousins.

 

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Paul (Pete) Harrington, and nephews Michael and David Harrington.

 

Calling hours will be Sunday 2-4 pm at Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc., 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland, NY 13045.

 

Funeral services will be held Monday 1 pm at Wright-Beard Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the St. Mary's Cemetery.
