Obituary of Barbara G. Rawson

Barbara, "Barbie", Rawson (76) of Cortland, NY passed away unexpectedly on December 27, 2019 at home. A Celebration of Life will be held 5pm-7pm Thursday January 2, at the Salvation Army 138 Main street Cortland, NY 13045. Barbara was born in Green, NY to Betty (Loveless) Jackson and Maurice LaVern Green on July 20, 1943. She worked as a sewing machine operator for the Cresent Corset Company in Cortland, NY for many years until retiring. An animal lover and vocal advocate she shared her life with numerous pet cats and dogs - most recently having lost her long-time companion, "Miss Vicky". Barb enjoyed computer games, puzzles, yard sales, and dining out with her family and friends. Barbara is survived by her daughter, Amanda (Gregg) Cuthbert; her sisters Marlea Youngs, Linda (Doug) Mcnitt, Cheryl (Jeff) Huser, and Terri Lynn (Steve) Montieth ;sister-in-law Carol Jackson; her grandchildren Courtney (Fantasia) Cuthbert-Wing, Breanna Cuthbert, Gregory Cuthbert Jr., and Isabella Cuthbert-Wing; many nieces and nephews and long-time friend, Sandra (Keith) Brown. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Perry Rawson, brother Ralph Clifford Jackson, and brother-in-law Herbert Youngs. In lieu of flowers family invite friends to attend the Celebration of Life and bring a favorite memory or photo to share.
