Betty J. Spangenburg, 85, of Cortland NY, passed away at Guthrie Cortland Regional Medical Center. She was born November 3, 1934 in Cortland the daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth King Niles. Betty was a lifelong resident of the area graduating from McGraw High School. She had been employed at Ames Linen for over twenty four years. Her family will cherish her memory for her dedication to them. She is survived by her daughters Cindy (Andrew) Hegedus, Lori Spangenburg, Sue Arnold, and Renee (Carl) Baatz, her grandchildren Jason, Jeremy, Desiree, Heather, and Alfred, eight great grandchildren, along with nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her husband Leo Spangenburg, her daughter Sonia Spangenburg, and her siblings Charles, James, David, and Joan. A graveside service will be announced in the spring at the McGrawville Cemetery by the Wright-Beard Funeral Home. There are no services at this time.
