James F. Clark, 81, of Cortland passed away January 13, 2020 at the Elizabeth Church Manor, Binghamton NY. He was born August 25, 1938 in Cortland the son of the late George Clark, Sr. and Ruth Mack Clark, Sr. Jim was a lifelong resident of Cortland attending Cortland schools prior to being drafted. He served with the US Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged. Jim had worked at Cobakco and Durkee's Bakery prior to and after serving with the Army. In 1968 he began working at SUNY Cortland retiring in 2001. He lovenjoyed the outdoors spending time with his family, being outdoors and taking walks. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and being a friendly neighbor. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Judy Clark, his daughters Brenda (Michael) Hammond, Debra (Jeffrey) Powers, his brother Paul "Dick" Clark Sr., his grandchildren Heather, Micala, and Ally Hammond, Skyler and Madison Powers, three great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his brother George Clark Jr., and Barbara and Helen Clark A calling hour will be held Saturday, 1/18 at 1pm with a funeral service to begin at 2pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc., 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland NY, with Chaplain Norm Stitzel presiding. Spring burial will be at the Cortland Rural Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
