John Rugg posted a condolence

Gwynne and I have been close friends and classmates in the great Class of 49 at Cortland HS since the ninth grade. I socialized with Gwynne and Tiny throughout the years until his untimely death at a young age. In later years I would work with her on class reunions--she was a terrific and faithful organizer of them until bringing them to an end when so few could attend. She was a great friend, classmate, teacher and supporter of her Church and many charitable organizations.
My wife Ellie and I will miss her Christmas family newsletter showing how proud she was of her sons and grandchildren. This year there was only a signed greeting card--we knew something was amiss.
She took a great deal of beauty and life with her--and shall be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. John and Ellie Rugg

We will all miss Auntie Gwynne. We always said Auntie instead of Aunt because it provided an air of sophistication combined with frivolity that befitted such a grand lady. I found this picture of her with Rachel and my sister Sally. I believe this was at Brewster House where she donated so much of her time and energy. It's sad that Rachel and her brothers did not know your father. But the good thing is that he, and she, live on in you and in them.
I'm sorry that my wife Sylvia and I won't be able to attend the service as I will be out of the country.
Cousin Tom Crosley.

Mrs Crosley was the finest teacher by far that I had in the time I spent in the Cortland City School District. She was always upbeat and made learning fun. The world needs many more like her.

Mrs. Crosley was a wonderful teacher and one of my favorites! She was cool, calm and collected. As an adult, I stopped in to visit her in her last year of teaching. Those were days when you could visit, without permission and red tape details related to safety,etc... I walked in, her face lit up and she was able to remember me, as one of the hundreds of the kids she spent a year with. It was a great year 6th grade and a great visit to her classroom. Our prayers for a "cool teacher" who got many of us interested in learning! RIP Mrs. C.!
