Obituary of Josephine Biviano McCall

Josephine Biviano McCall, 85, of Homer passed away February 11, 2020 at the Guthrie Cortland Regional Medical Center Nursing Facility. She was born January 8, 1935 in Cortland, NY.
Josephine was a lifelong resident of the area, graduating from Cortland High School in 1954. She then attended and graduated from Culver Academy of Beauty Culture in Rochester, NY. Following beauty school, she was employed at Diane's Beauty Salon and Mr. Alex Beauty Salon. She married her late husband, Ward in 1958, and soon after they began their family, at which time Josephine stayed at home to raise her children. She resumed her working career after the death of Ward in 1982, working at Camford and Rubbermaid. In 1985, Josephine joined ASC at SUNY Cortland where she worked until retiring in 2002. Her family will cherish her memory as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter Jaclyn (Patrick) Sweeney, her son Arthur "A.J." McCall, her brother Carmen (Tammy) Biviano, her six grandchildren Ryan Sweeney, Erin (Matt) Hammes, Hailey Sweeney, Nicole (Mike) Brotherton, Noelle (Lee) Souva, and Philip McCall, ten great grandchildren Averey, Owen, Cameron, Connor, Jack, Aubri, Blake, Natalee, MaKenna and Lexi, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Josephine was predeceased by her husband Ward L. McCall, her infant son Ward P. McCall, her parents Frank and Rose Natoli Biviano, grandson Kenneth McCall, infant great grandson Colton Brotherton, her brothers John, Angelo, and Frank Biviano, and her sister Philomena Dort.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, February 15th, at 10 AM at St. Mary's Church, Main St., Cortland NY, 13045. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Per Josephine's request, there will be no calling hours. The Wright-Beard Funeral Home is serving the family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
