Obituary of David J. Bennett

David J. Bennett 70 of McGraw, NY passed away on Friday, February 21, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 4, 1949 in Ellis Prairie, MO. Dave joined the United States Army and served his county during Vietnam. He met the love of his life, Shebee in the Army and after living in Colorado they moved back to her home state of New York. He was employed by Cortland County until his retirement. Dave truly lived his life. He shared his love of the outdoors, camping, fishing, gold prospecting, shooting and blowing things up with everyone. He was a Jack Daniels drinking, Harley Davidson riding, rib smoking, Guitar playing, help anyone who needed it, Rebel born and raised kind of man you would be proud to know. Dave is survived by his daughter, Leah (Chuck) Fowler, brothers, Tom Gibeson, Texas, Melvin Gibeson, Tennessee, James (Ginger) Gibeson, Missouri, brother in law, Christopher Marshall, Alfred O. (Mary) Marshall, Jr., Casey Marshall and sisters in law, Florence "Flo" Steve Elliot, Rosemary Korotky, Cathy Stage and Wendy (Chris) Whible and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren He was predeceased by his wife of 33 years, Shebee Bennett, his mother Ramona and father, James, his brother Jerry and sister Debbie. A celebration of life party will be held July 3, 2020 at the family home, 2947 US 11, McGraw, NY.
