Obituary of Janis K. Ostrander

On Friday, April 3, 2020, Janis K. Ostrander passed away at age 67 in Cortland, NY. Janis was born on April 23, 1952, in Portland Oregon to Oren "Pat" and Connie Warner. Raised in Alaska, Janis had an adventurous spirit and suffered from wanderlust. After a range of diverse jobs (cook, bartender, landscaper, nursing assistant), Janis found her calling as a long-distance truck driver. This allowed her to travel across the United States and parts of Canada. After her retirement, Janis continued to work locally in Cortland. She worked as a pharmacy delivery driver and drove people to various appointments. She found deep satisfaction in helping others. Janis was a loving mother to her two children, Chris and Nakia. She never failed to tell her children how much she loved them and how proud she was of their accomplishments. They were "her world." Janis was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Vicky, and her brother Mike. She is survived by her brother Bob, her children Chris and Nakia, her son-in-law John, and her granddaughters Kaia and MacKenzie.
