Carl was such a prominent man in the community. My family knew him well from school, the church and sports, (Eric and I were team mates for several years, my sister and Carla were close friends, Lydia was my classmate). I have lots of good memories of him and extend my condolences to Jane, Carla, Lydia. Eric and the entire extended family.

Grandpa Carl had so many accomplishments, but I'll always remember him a family man. He's been a central figure in my life, bringing the family together always. As a child we celebrated every holiday at the Edlund house. Christmas will forever be my favorite holiday with our unique Santa tradition. Silly Halloween parties, skiing at greek peak, fun times swimming at the lake. Grandpa has always have been there for me, celebrating the big and small milestones. I'm going to miss grandpa's smile and spirit. I'll drink a Manhattan tonight! I'm sorry we couldn't all be together today. Jane, Eric, Lydia, and Carla I'm so glad you were able to be with Carl in his last days. I know he was where he wanted to be.

So sorry to hear about Carl's death. Such a wonderful man. My sympathy goes out to all Carl's family and friends and especially to Jane and Carla! My Mom, Susie Inman, was Carl's deputy county treasurer for many years. She thought the world of him. May all take comfort in knowing that we will be reunited in the next life! God Bless!

I wish to offer my heartfelt condolences to Jane and all members of the Edlund Clan. I had the pleasure of getting acquainted with Carl during my five years in the Cortland Rotary. I always enjoyed having Carl as a table partner during the Club luncheons. He always had a smile and always inquired as to how things were going for me. As a Homer School Board member, I appreciated how he understood from his school board experiences what I was going through at the time with the proposed closing of the Truxton school. I, as a historian, loved to hear his stories of the past and the wisdom he shared from his longevity. The world is diminished by his passing. God bless!
