Obituary of Jose D. Cruz

José Del Carmen Cruz Del Moral, 69, passed away Wednesday, May 20 at home surround by love ones after a long fought battle with vascular dementia. José was born October 3, 1950 in Humacao, Puerto Rico. He is predeceased by his father, Jacinto Cruz and mother, Catalina Del Morla and nine sisters and brothers. He was a long time resident of Cortland. José worked for Brewer's Corporation for several years. José spent his time with his family, as well as his favorite hobbies of fishing, walking, and working on cars. José enjoyed spending time with his family. José was a kind-hearted honest man who always treated everyone with kindness and was filled with youth-like joy and humor. José is survived by his wife Vivian Cruz of Cortland, daughters Therese (John) Kibbler of Lowville, and Nancy (Scott) Sherman of Cortland, Confessor Cruz of Reading, PA and Jorge Cruz of Homer, serval nieces, 7 grandchildren, and several great nieces and nephews. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic no services will be held. A Celebration of Life in José's honor will be held at a later date.
