Betty Louise Banner, 84, of Preble passed away peacefully on June 17, 2020 surrounded by her daughters at Crouse Hospital, Syracuse NY. She was born on March 8, 1936 in LaFayette, NY. Betty was a lifelong resident of the area. She worked for the U.S. Postal Service as the Preble mail carrier for 33 years. She was a long time member of Grace Christian Fellowship/Homer Baptist Church, and the founder and leader of the Preble Merry Maidens and Red Clover 4-H Clubs. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she loved spending time with her family and taught the gifts of hospitality by example. She was known for her open heart, listening ear for everyone who crossed her doorstep, love for the outdoors, and had a true heart for her Savior Jesus Christ. She is survived by her daughters: Jacqueline (David) Brown, Marilee (Steven) Olsen, Paula (J. Olaf) Gustafson; her brother Clair N. Fuller, eleven grandchildren: Amanda (Oscar) Walters, Lottie (Richard) Tordel, Shannon (Amber) Brown, Keith (Kaitlyn) Brown, Christopher (Lauren) Olsen, Maribeth Marjory Olsen, J. Aaron Gustafson, Troy (Anna) Brown, Erik O. Gustafson, J. Andrew Gustafson, Julia Marie Gustafson; fifteen great grandchildren, and nieces, nephews, and cousins. Betty was predeceased by her parents Lucien Mitchell and Marjory Julia Fuller, her husband of almost 60 years, Frank Adelbert Banner, her sister Marie James, and her grandson Cory Brown. Services are private for the immediate family. Burial will be held at the Elmwood Cemetery, Preble NY. The Wright-Beard Funeral Home is serving the family.
