Obituary of Michael R. Stone

Please share a memory of Michael to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Dad, Michael R. Stone (STONEY), 55, of Cortland, passed away on June 27, 2020. He was born October 29, 1964 to Victor Stone Sr. and Marie Stone. Mike was an unconditional loving father to Joey Thomas and Jade Stone. His family meant the world to him, especially his brothers and sisters, Brenda Dewey (Chris), Bonnie Stone (Robert), Victor Stone Jr.(Sue), his nieces and nephews Matt Stone (Erica), Chris Dewey III (Chelsea), Kristin Stone (Steve), Brandee Weymouth (Terry), Krysandra (Nick), McKayla, Karigan, Kayden, Trenten, Braydon, Bryson, Brooxtynn, Jennilee, and Jace, and a longtime partner Brenda Holbert. Mike grew up as a painter with his father. He also worked at Rubbermaid, Acorn Products, Albany International, Pall Trinity and Cortland Plastics. Mike was an avid Washington Redskins fan. He enjoyed playing pool, horseshoes, bowling, concerts, splitting wood, fishing, softball, watching baseball, cooking and blasting rock n roll at bonfires fires with his closest friends. He also was a huge animal lover and could fix anything with wheels. He never went anywhere without a pocket jangling of change and his blue sparkly comb in his back Pocket. The bond that we share is “STONE STRONG” that will never be broke. When the storm clears we will see a man who only wanted one thing in this world, which is peace, love, and family togetherness. Mike leaves behind a legacy that will never be forgotten and will be carried with us forever. Mike was predeceased by his Parents, Vic Stone Sr. and Marie Stone, and his brother, Darryl Stone, who will be waiting for him with open arms. “LATER”
