Obituary of Evelyn Gallow

Evelyn L. Gallow, 93, of Cortland, passed away on July 1, 2020 at Crown Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Evelyn was born on December 12, 1926 to her parents the late John Lundy and Emily Nearpass Lundy. She made her career working for many years at the Smith Corona Manufacturing Corporation. Evelyn was a member of the local VFW Auxiliary for 65 years as well as the American Legion for 72 years. Both of these organizations meant so much to her and she was so proud to be a part them. She is survived and will be deeply missed by her sons Robert D. Gallow, Dennis E. (Lisa) Gallow; daughters Faye Gallow and Deanna Grover; her brother Loyd “Gene” Lundy; multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Evelyn is predeceased by her daughter Lynn Riccardi; brothers James Lundy and Robert Lundy; sisters Alice Putnam, Betty Fox, and Marion Burnett; grandchildren Emily G. Gallow, Julie Riccardi, and Leslie Radcliff. Services were under the direction of the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc. Burial took place at the Groton Rural Cemetery. The family requests that all donations be sent to the VFW Post 2354 76 Main St Cortland, NY 13045.
