Loved Mr. Spiegel. He was always fair, and treated his students with respect. I will always remember his smile, and willingness to help every student be the best citizen that they could be.

Glenn was a wonderful ,kind & compassionate man, that was clearly visible in 1991 , when Glenn & Fay traveled bi-weekly from Cortland to Rochester to spend time with his brother Ken , as he was fighting brain cancer. That meant so much to Ken, to have the support and comfort of a family member by his side. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his wife Barbara his children Amanda,Lyla, and Bruce as well as his sister Ellie. Glenn will be missed, and may God give him eternal rest . Gerlinde & Rex Embrey

I first encountered Glenn Speigel when he came to speak at one of my master's education classes at SUNY Cortland. I was forty years old and needed a teaching job very much. We had just heard another speaker who practically had us in tears because she said it would be so hard to get a job. Glenn saved the day for us all. He was very inspiring and encouraging about the teaching profession and about our prospects. We kept his words in mind as we went forward in our job searches. He was right! I got the first job I interviewed for and have had a wonderfully fulfilling teaching career since 1989!
Years later, I met Glenn in person when he married Barbara, a lovely person and classmate of mine. It was wonderful to see them so happy together at community events. I know Barb will have beautiful memories to hold in her heart.
Thank you, Glenn! We will miss you, but we will not forget what you stood for and all that you did for our students and our community! Stephanie Passeri-Densmore

Glenn was a great man. I’ve known him my whole life. He visited us with his boat on Skaneateles Lake. He was my Principal at CJSHS and later my boss there. He came to my wedding as well. Bruise was a regular fixture at our house.
Always kind, fair and full of life, Glenn will certainly be missed.

Mr.Spiegel was a very nice man.
He worked with my Aunt, Mary M. Davis (Vice Principal) and my father, Richard E. Carr (Teacher) At Cortland Jr. High.
Mr. Spiegel came to our Celebration of Life for my Aunt and shared memories of working together. So glad he shared those memories.
Peace for his family at this sad time.
