Obituary of Thelma A. Elwood

Thelma A. Elwood Thelma A. Elwood, formerly of 17 James St., Homer passed away peacefully on Sat, August 22, 2020 at Cortland Park Nursing Center at the age of 94. A lifelong area resident, Thelma was born November 17, 1925, a daughter of the late Leon and Josephine Daley Woodward. Thelma served as County Clerk for the Town of Homer for a number of years and worked at a number of retail stores in the area. Thelma was a longtime member of St. Margaret's Church, Homer, The Elks Club and the American Legion. She enjoyed gardening, spending time with family and friends. She especially enjoyed summers at the St. Lawrence River boating and fishing with her husband Robert. Surviving are her daughter's, Denise Elwood Ferro and Donna E. Starmer; four grandchildren, Alesandra Ferro Bone (Steven); Liza Ferro; Bryan Starmer and Brianna Starmer. Thelma was predeceased by her husband, Robert Elwood in 1991; and her siblings, Dorothy, Gerald, Donald, Lloyd, Jeremiah, Kenneth, Leon, Lester, and Emma Woodward and Janet James.
