Obituary of Fred J. Harvey

Fred J. Harvey 84, of Cortland N.Y. passed away August 21,2020 at St Joseph's Hospital. He was born October 3, 1935 in Upper Lisle, a son of the late Jess and Edna Satterly Harvey. He was Married to Judith A. Wells on 6/8/1963. Fred retired from Gutchess Lumber as a truck driver. He drove truck for most of his career for different companies, and loved his job. He loved the outdoors, nature and birds. And spending time with family. Fred is survived by 3 sons, Fred J. Harvey Jr.(Belinda), Kermit E. (Joyce), James P.(Katrina). And 5 daughters, Charlean E. Harris(Eddie), Barbara J. Barrows (Ronald), Carol A. Bassett (Daniel), Kelley L. Stupke (Dave Heider), Tricia C. Ward (Brian). 21 Grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren. Sister Kathleen Morey, many nieces and nephews, and a special friend Beverly Horner. Fred was predeceased by his loving wife Judith A. Harvey, Brothers Edward, Bernard, Joe, William. Sisters Bettie McCracken, Pearl Zane, Beverly Batsford Public calling hours will be 3-4:45 PM Thursday at Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc. 9 Lincoln Ave, Cortland, NY 13045. We will be following NYS guidelines regarding capacity, social distancing, and wearing face coverings.
