Obituary of Dale Bell

R. Dale Bell passed away on October 6, 2020. He was born on May 2, 1934 and was the second son of Ruth and Bill Bell. Dale never married but was very involved in the community. He was a life time member of the Homer Methodist Church and sang in the choir. Coaching, cross country travel, and boy scouts kept him busy. He worked for many years and retired from the Vegetable Research Farm at Cornell. He also drove bus for Homer Central Schools. Dale is survived by his siblings Thomas (Shirley) Bell, Jeannine Langdon, William Lee Bell, Louis Bell, Gerald Bell, Arthur (Joan) Bell, Kathleen Bowersox, and numerous nieces and nephews. A calling hour will be held on Friday October 16, 2020 from 1-2pm at the Homer First United Methodist Church, 16 Cayuga St., Homer, NY with a memorial service to follow. Rev. Dr. Sung Jun Park will be officiating. The church will be following the guidelines regarding capacity and social distancing. For the calling hour and the service, the ushers will check everyone’s temperature, take contacts for COVID-19 tracking purposes, and guide people to take a seat. During the service, all are required to wear face masks, be six feet apart from each family group, and are encouraged to use hand sanitizer provided by the church.
