I was deeply saddened at hearing of Mr. Barber's passing. It's difficult to put into words the many memories as one of the lucky individuals to have learner the love of music under his encouragement. Music lessons, band practice and concerts, marching band events, summer band..... I will always remember and appreciate his sense of humor, thoughtful conversations and how completely engaged he was in the time he spent with you. Some of my favorite times were walking into the band room or his home music studio hearing him play something so beautifully at the piano. My thoughts and most sincere sympathies are with his wife, family and friends during this difficult time. He will be sorely missed and fondly remembered.

Dear Nancy and family, I will miss Carl very much. I enjoyed his humor, stories and laughter. I will always treasure our piano playing sessions. It was so much fun playing duets and laughing over our mistakes. I will also treasure the times at the lake with Nancy and Carl playing piano, swimming and having very delicious lunches . My most treasured memories will be the prayers Carl always offered after each visit. I loved that he loved his students and talked about them fondly and kept in touch, giving them advice and just being there for them. What a good man. I am very blessed to have been a part of his life. He will be greatly missed... My deepest condolences , Mary Glezen
