James Joseph Starr, 75, of Homer NY, passed away November 8, 2020. He was born December 16, 1944 in Cortland NY, the son of the late Joseph and Helen Miller Starr.
James was a lifelong area resident of Homer and graduated from Homer High School class of 1964. He served his country with the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged. He was a member of the Homer American Legion. James had been employed in the past by Hancock International Airport in Syracuse. James was an avid lover of watching sports but always favored the St. Louis Cardinals. He last got to tour Busch Stadium and the Hall of Fame in 2018.
James is survived by his sister Suzanne Gregg (Haven); nieces Cynthia Berry (Nathan), Kathy Craig (Jeff) as well as several other nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in the Veteran's section of the Glenwood Cemetery, Homer, NY. We will be practicing social distancing and face coverings are required. The Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Cortland is serving the family.
