Obituary of Charlene Ann Bushnell

Charlene A. Bushnell, 70, of Cortland passed away November 23, 2020 at University Hospital, Syracuse NY. She was born October 4, 1950 in Sydney NY. Charlene graduated from Avon High School, but lived most of her life in Cortland. Through the years she had been employed with Smith Corona and Buckee-Mears, but her passion was working as a CNA at Misty Glenn and later doing private duty care in peoples homes, Charlene loved taking care of others. She was very creative and loved crafting and painting. Christmas was her favorite time of year and she loved to decorate and display her many Christmas villages. It was also well known that Charlene made the best Macaroni and Cheese! She is survived by her husband of 49 years Stanley "Marty" Bushnell, her daughters Tina (Jason) Watkins, Jeannette (Doug Swisher) Bushnell, her twin sister Christine Hodges, her siblings Darlene (Dick) Loope, David (Jennifer Dugan) Hodges, Ann (Richard) Carter, her grandchildren Zachary Fiene, Noah Watkins, Owen Watkins, many nieces, nephews, and in laws. She was predeceased by her mother Betty Cusson, her father Glenn Hodges, her step father Joe Cusson, her siblings Linda Hodges, Jimmy Hodges, and Wes Cusson. Calling hours will be Saturday 9:30-10:45am at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc., 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland NY, 13045. We will be following NYS guidelines regarding capacity, facial coverings, and distancing. Mary's Cemetery, Cortland. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital a favorite charity of Charlene's.
