Obituary of Joan H Williamson

Joan H. Williamson, 85, passed away peacefully December 26 at home on what would have been her 61st wedding anniversary with Nye E. Williamson, who preceded her in death. Joan was born on October 6, 1935 in Cortland, NY to Duane and Marie Hollister. She graduated from Syracuse University, Phi Kappa Phi, in 1957 where she was the president of the Delta Delta Delta sorority. For 46 years, Joan crafted beautiful living spaces as an ASID interior designer with Peck's Furniture Store. She loved interacting with customers and was able to combine her creative vision with immaculate attention to detail. Joan was an avid gardener and enjoyed entertaining. She was known for her incredible wit and an eye for perfection. Joan is survived by her children, Briggs (Christine) and Wendy (Paul), sister Judy (Dr. Leonard) and four grandchildren, Trevor, Parker, Hollister and Stewart. A private celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family, there are no calling hours.
