Obituary of Patricia A. Burns

Patricia (Pat) Ann Burns, 85 of Spafford, NY passed away on December 18, 2020. Pat was born in Cortland, NY, the daughter of William C. and Edith M. (Stevens) Donohue on December 5, 1935. She graduated from Homer Central High School and went on to study at Lemoyne College. Early after college, she worked at the Cortland Line Company. Pat married Leonard Burns, Jr. and moved to the family farm in Spafford, NY. She was a 4-H leader for several years, and a member of the Spafford Fire Department's Women's Auxiliary for some time. Pat was pre-deceased by her husband, Leonard in 2014, and a daughter, Mary A. Overbeck in 2018. She is survived by her daughter Linda (Michael) Trenney of Avonmore, PA, sons John (Michele) Burns of Dryden, NY and Kevin Burns of Cortland, Son-in-law Randy Overbeck of Borodino, granddaughters Nichole (Justus) Boring, Morgen (Greg) Crispell and Kyle Emily Burns, and great-granddaughters Lydia Boring, and June and Jade Crispell. Private graveside service and burial will be at Atwater Cemetery in Homer at the convenience of the family in the spring.
