Obituary of Charles Thorp

Charles "Chuck ," Francis Thorp, age 52, passed away in his home in Greeneville, TN on December 19, 2020. He spent the last four years fighting kidney cancer, giving it his all in a courageous, rough, and long battle. He was born in Syracuse, NY on March 7, 1968 to Nellis and Betty Thorp. He spent most of his childhood in the Fabius/Cazenovia, NY area. His adult life consisted of spending his time in Marathon, Cortland, and Lansing, NY until his recent move to TN. Before he became ill, he enjoyed hunting, being out on the boat fishing, camping, cookouts with family and friends, late night bonfires, and anything that involved outdoors. He was often seen working on vehicles as well. Chuck spent his working career in the field of construction. Chuck is survived by his wife Brenda Thorp, his children Ashley (Adam) Kress, Matthew Thorp, and Zach (Daphne) Thorp, his step children Ashley (Toby) Maxwell, Danny Watts, Justin Watts, and Matthew Watts. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. He is survived by a sister, Margaret Thorp and a brother Gerald Thorp. Chuck is predeceased by his parents and two sisters, Donna and Susan. Services will be held at Christian Assembly of God, 175 Port Watson St., Cortland, NY on January 9, 2021.
