Clara Pace was one of the most beloved members of St. Anthony of Padua Church and the Stella D’Oro Lodge. Clara was a tireless worker for both the parish and the lodge. Over the years, literally thousands of people came together over the delicious food Clara lovingly prepared. So many people in Cortland will remember convivial evenings at St. Anthony’s Election Night Spaghetti Dinners, Pasta and Beans Suppers, and so many more memorable occasions. At all times, Clara led her volunteers with great ability and a cheerful sense of humor. She always had a smile on her face and a sparkle in her eye. Clara was a faithful member of Stella D’Oro Lodge for decades and led the lodge admirably and enthusiastically as president. When people speak of the “Greatest Generation,” they speak of people like Clara, who worked hard, overcame the hardships of their times, gave generously of themselves, and accomplished much in all phases of their lives. “Che Dio ti benedica sempre, cara sorella Clara!” May God bless you always, dear sister Clara! Your lodge sisters and fellow parishioners will never forget you.
With deepest respect and sympathy, Stephanie Passeri-Densmore (President of Stella D’Oro Lodge)
