Obituary of John R. Snyder

John R. Snyder passed away January 24th after a brief illness, he was born January 31st 1936, he was the first successful cesarean born at Cortland Hospital. He graduated the president of his senior class at St. Mary's School in 1954 Married Doris L Snyder September 22nd 1956, they had a beautiful and loving marriage for 64yrs. John worked for Smith Corona for 17yrs and then became a Sales engineer with Garlock Precision Seals and retired in 1997. John enjoyed playing golf, watching Norte Dame football and going on adventures with his wife and friends. John had a quick wit and an excellent sense of humor. He loved hosting family and friends for years on Friday nights at their home on Arthur Ave. John is survived by his wife of 64 years Doris, sons Scott John (Laurie) of East Homer, Michael Patrick of Cortland and Daughter Mary Christine also from Cortland and his sister Mary Susan of Bridgeport NY. His grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Parents Gilbert and Marion, brothers G. William, Thomas and James. Grandson Daniel Patrick, daughter-in-law Marschelle (Shelley) Snyder and son in law Charles Clinard. A celebration of John's life will be held at a later date
