Obituary of John Stack

John W. Stack, 93, of Cortland passed away February 5, 2021 with family by his side. He was born July 13, 1927 in Cortland the son of the late Michael and Julia Kelly Stack. John was a lifelong resident of the area being educated locally. He served with the US Army during WWII and was honorably discharged. John was a lifelong communicant of St. Mary's Church. He had been employed with Brockway Motors for many years until their closing. He is survived by his daughter Maureen Stack Hartley (Ron), Michael Stack (Lisa), Kelly Stack Sprouse (Steve), his sisters Ann Stack and Noreen Rigopoulos his grandchildren Rachael and Emily Stack, Mary Katherine Sprouse, step grandchildren Joseph Hartley, Kailee, Emily & Zach Williams, Kaitlyn Sprouse and one great granddaughter Lyla Crumb with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his wife Mary Garvey Stack and his son Patrick Stack along with his brother Patrick Stack, sisters Mary Stack and Katherine Stack Wolpert and brother-in-law Joseph P Garvey Jr. as well as several cousins.
