Obituary of Gerald Bell

Gerald Richard (Ricky) Bell Jr, 57, of Cortland NY, formally San Diego, CA, passed away peacefully on February 12th surrounded by his family. Ricky was born in Cortland, NY to Fayanne and Gerald (Jerry) Bell on September 21st 1963. Ricky met his lifelong friend, Theresa Porter Tummino in Homer grammar school, and their friendship endured throughout his lifetime. Rick's sense of adventure and dreams took him to California at an early age. There he pursued his passion of owning his own business in Landscape Art and Floral design. In San Diego, he also grew and cultivated a fierce and loyal group of Friends, and together they had many wonderful adventures and experiences. Ricky's many passions and talents included replicating natures beauty in his own designs, the gift of laughter in all situations, being late and unorganized (as most artistes are), and always being optimistic in the face of adversity. His dazzling blue eyes seemed to hypnotize you at first sight. It was easy to make Rick happy, all you needed was an open mind to all his true life hilarious stories and a kitchen stocked with ranch dressing, ketchup and anything that included chocolate! Ricky is survived by his Father, Jerry Bell of Cortland NY, His sister Sandy Bell Miller of Cortland NY, Sister Dawn Bell Anderson (Dan) of North Carolina, Brother Wayne Bell (Vicki Whelock) of North Carolina, and brother Abdul Bell of Syracuse. Nieces and nephews, Brandon Alverez, Ashlee Miller, Logan Bell, Jesse Bell, Shane Bell, and Gracie Brown. As well as numerous Aunts and Uncles. Ricky's beloved mother, Fayanne Bell received her eldest son with open arms as he entered the Kingdom of Heaven.
