Obituary of Christine Amidon

Christine Amidon, 72, of Cortland, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2021 at Guthrie Hospital in Sayre, PA., with her family and partner by her side. She was born October 4, 1948, in Rome, New York, the daughter of Frank and Gloria Hanley Corgliano. She was a graduate of Rome Free Academy. She worked at Stickley furniture for a number of years, and was the first female supervisor at the company. She was subsequently employed by the J.M.Murray Center in Cortland as a Team Manager, by Madison Cortland ARC as a Residence Manager and by Franciscan Services as a Home Care Aide prior to her retirement. She is survived by her partner Joan Stivers; one sister, Pamela Mendez (Luis) of Cortland, her brother, Frank Corgliano of Michigan; her step-daughter Carol Morse (Nate) and their daughter Alex Garrow , as well as her step-son Bob Smith (Monica) of Farmington, NY. She will be missed by several nieces and nephews and many dear friends. She was predeceased by her parents; her previous life partner, Donna Hunt; also her sister JoAnn who died Sept. 23, 1982. A celebration of her life will take place in the spring, at a date to be determined.
