Clark Jackson Jones, 86 of Cortland, passed away on February 19, 2021 at SUNY Upstate Hospital in Syracuse, after a brief illness. He was born on March 25, 1934 in Endicott, NY, a son of the late Thomas John and Hilda Claire Lane Jones. He was preceded in death by his younger brother, Alan. Clark is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Haskell-Jones, of Cortland, his children, Dylan Jones, of Scotts Valley, CA, Moya Jones-Neely, of Sonoma, CA, and grandchildren, Katelyn, Patrick, Megan, Carolyn, Dakota and Olivia. He is also survived by his step-sons, Michael and Justin Polka and their families. Clark taught High School English in Santa Clara County, CA, most notably at Blackford HS. He took a hiatus from teaching and entered the Silicon Valley world where he was a production manager. He returned to teaching at Homer Central School for many years, retiring as the computer lab instructor. He was also an adjunct Professor at SUNY Cortland, teaching English comprehension and Poetry. His students admired and respected his knowledge of the subject matter, his humor and his way of making something difficult easy to understand. Clark loved to travel, Costa Rica being a favorite, listen to music, fish, read and drink really good Scotch. He was very proud that he attended the original Woodstock! Per Clark's wishes there will be no formal service at this time. Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc. is assisting the family with arrangements.
