Obituary of Theresa Tanner

Theresa M. Tanner (93) of Cortland, NY, joined her parents and siblings in eternal rest in the evening hours of 22 Mar 2021. Theresa was born in Scranton, PA on 12 Jan 1928 to Earl G. and Teresa Silvia Holmes. She married Wendell E. Tanner on 2 June 1951 with whom she had two sons, David L of Cortland, and James E (Thomas Mingo) of Erie, PA, all of whom survive. Theresa is also survived by her grandchildren, Kristina Tanner Furi of Cortland, and Patrick (Crystal) Tanner of Mauldin, SC; great grandchildren Zahara, Roman, Viviana, Isabella, and Etta Petrella, all of Cortland; several nieces and nephews; and a dear friend, Joanne Tanner. Prior to, and during the early years of her marriage, Theresa was employed as a book keeper for the Crowley Milk Company in Binghamton. Moving to Cortland in 1966, she worked first as a seamstress for the Crescent Corset Company, and later as a front office clerk for Ames Linen Service. Theresa was predeceased by her parents, brothers Frank and George, twin sister Abbie, and sister Nellie. There will be no calling hours or services per her wishes. Interment will be in the Holmes family plot at Spring Forest Cemetery in Binghamton, NY at the family's convenience.
