Obituary of Helen Walker

Helen Walker, 91, of Cortland, NY passed away on Friday April 9, 2021. She was born on June 22, 1929, the daughter of the late Clayton and Mildred Hayes Dence. Helen graduated from Cortland State with her Master’s Degree. After college, Helen became a fourth grade teacher at the Homer Central School district for thirty years. She was a member of the New York State Retired Teachers Association, as well as the McGraw and Cortland Senior Clubs. Helen was also a dedicated member of the 489 American Legion Auxiliary. Helen is survived by her children Charles Eaton, Diana McGee, and Debra Sanford, her sister Barbara Garrow, five grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. Helen is predeceased by her husband Harold James Walker in 2018, and her brother Robert Dence. There will be no services per Helen’s wishes.
