Obituary of Elizabeth Hubbard
Please share a memory of Elizabeth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On May 19, 2021, Elizabeth May Hubbard peacefully returned to the loving arms of our Lord. Fondly known as "Pete" to all, Elizabeth, born in McGraw, New York, was blessed by God's hand with health, family, and friends for 97 years. She was preceded in her reward by her mother and father, Blanche and Martin Caufield, and her husband of 66 years, Kenneth E. Hubbard. Elizabeth will be laid to rest by Ken's side in Cortland, New York.
A self-taught and life-long artisan, Pete kept herself busy designing and crafting the most beautiful quilts imaginable that she always gifted to friends and family. It was often said that there was not a complex afghan, quilt or blanket she could not crochet, knit, or sew. Each effort was more beautiful than the last and always dearly treasured by the recipient. She was kidded that the combination of her talent for color and fabric blends coupled with being an exacting and tough New York girl who cut her teeth working at the Vesta Corset Company set the stage for her prized "Pete Originals".
As the eldest of three, Elizabeth's two younger brothers found her to be a great friend, mentor, and protector. She was preceded to heaven by her eldest brother, Edward Caufield, and is survived and will be dearly missed by her youngest brother, James Caufield, McGraw, New York. The dynamic trio.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Coleman, Lilburn, Georgia; 2 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, and several nieces and nephews.
