Obituary of Eleonore W. Rigg

Eleonore Wilhelmina Rigg, best known as Lore and Omi, passed away at 85 on June 1st, 2021 surrounded by her family in Cortland, NY. Lore and her family traveled from Homberg, Germany to the United States in 1956. She built residence in Trenton, NJ where she met and married her one true love Budd M. Rigg in 1963. Budd, Lore and their two children relocated to Homer, NY in 1974 and soon joined the Cortland Repertory Theatre and Arts Council. She attended TC3 and graduated with her A.A.S and went on to achieve her bachelors and master's degree in education at Cortland State. Lore taught Art and German at Newark Valley Central School until she retired to The Villages, FL. In 2018 Lore moved back to Cortland to be with her family. Lore was a devoted sister and faithfully served in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She is preceded in death by her Husband, Budd M. Rigg and Siblings Margarit DeValitch and Hans Ulrich. She is survived by both her Children Mrs. Carmen (Rudi) Louw and Mr. Budd W. Rigg. Her Grandchildren James (Mandy) Chappell, Victoria Rigg, and Jessica Rigg. Her Great Grandchildren Isabel, Gabrielle, Jaden, Aiden, Ambrie, Braxcen, Zander, and Jaxsin. Contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society. Flowers should be sent to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, at 3725 Fairview Dr. Cortland, NY 13045. Calling hours will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints from 11am-12pm on Saturday, June 5, 2021 followed by Services.
